The Way Forward Group (Bereavement Support Group)

Caring for someone can be a deeply rewarding yet challenging experience. However, should that role comes to an end through bereavement, it can leave a big gap in daily life. Many former carers tell us they feel a mix of emotions—grief, loss of routine, and sometimes even a sense of isolation. The Carers Support Service understands this journey and offers a warm, welcoming place to connect with others who share similar experiences.

Our Way Forward Group is an informal and friendly gathering for anyone whose caring role has ended through bereavement. It’s a space to share memories, talk openly, and find understanding among people who truly “get it.” You can also pick up information about local services, wellbeing activities, and ways to look after yourself during this new chapter.

When and Where

We meet on the first Thursday of every month, from 10am to 12pm, at:
The Wheatsheaf
Bargate, Grimsby, DN34 5AD
(Access through the car park—doors at the rear of the building)

There’s no need to book—simply turn up on the day, and you’ll be made to feel very welcome. Tea and coffee are available, and conversations are relaxed and unpressured.
