There are many ways you can get involved, from becoming a member of the Carers’ Support Service, volunteering or becoming part of a Carers Forum.

Carers’ Forum

The Carers’ Forum comprises a group of existing and former Carers, representing Carers’ interests.  The Carer’s Voice is an independent group of unpaid Carers working to ensure local services meet the needs of Carers and those they care for.

The group is often consulted on how to improve support and runs projects to benefit Carers in the community. For example, previously, the group was consulted on creating information guides for Carers whose loved ones are in hospital.  New members with diverse experiences are always welcome to help shape the future for local Carers.

Donations & Fundraising

The Carers’ Support Centre needs thousands of pounds each year, maybe you can help.

Your money goes to support services which support unpaid local Carers ensuring that they have access to advice, guidance and support whenever they need it.

For example, donations subsidise our lunch clubs and wood-work shed which offers Carers a break from their role and an opportunity to meet other local people creating a peer community.

Volunteering

At the Carers’ Support Service, volunteers make a real difference every day. They support carers and strengthen our community.

Our team includes drivers, befrienders, group facilitators, artists, counsellors, and administrators. Each volunteer brings unique skills that help carers feel supported and connected.

In 2024–2025, volunteers gave 3,587 hours of their time. This dedication shows the huge impact of volunteering.

You can help too. By volunteering, you’ll use your skills, meet new people, and make a meaningful difference.
