In-Person Dementia Carer Peer Support Group (Ashby)
Dementia Information Group – Ashby
Caring for someone with dementia can feel isolating—but hopefully our Dementia Information Group can change that. This group offers a safe, supportive space for unpaid carers across North Lincolnshire.
You can ask questions, share challenges, and hear tips from those who understand. Or, have conversations completely unrelated to caring – the choice is up to you!
2nd Wednesday of every month
2pm to 3:30pm
Ashby Hub, Ashby High Street, Scunthorpe, DN16 2RY
Understanding dementia starts with the right information—especially when you’re caring for someone affected by it. The Dementia Information Group offers a monthly in-person gathering where carers of PLWD (People Living With Dementia) or memory problems can get reliable advice in a relaxed, welcoming setting. No diagnosis is required.
Sometimes the session hosts a guest speaker. You may also suggest topics important to you and the group and get answers to any questions that you have.
We are there through each step of the journey
Our caring facilitators guide conversations, ensuring everyone feels heard. We share practical advice on topics such as:
– Communication strategies with PLWD (People Living With Dementia)
– Wellbeing tips for carers and their loved ones
– Using local support
– Planning for changes and future care needs
– Practical advice on managing routines, safety, and communication
