Parent Carers of adults over 25 Peer Support Group
Caring for an adult over the age of 25 who has learning needs or a disability can be deeply rewarding—but it can also bring unique challenges that only other carers truly understand. That’s why we at The Carers Support Service run a welcoming Parent Carers Peer Support Group in Scunthorpe, designed specifically for parents and guardians in this role.
This friendly, informal group meets on the last Friday of every month* Except December at
Scunthorpe Central Library
Carlton Street
10am to 12pm
There’s no need to book—
Simply come along, grab a tea or coffee, and connect with others who share similar experiences. We know how busy caring life can be, so our sessions are relaxed, understanding, and completely free to attend.
The group provides a safe space to share your story, exchange tips, and find solutions to everyday challenges. Whether you want a break from your caring role to talk about anything other than caring simply enjoying a chat with people who “get it, or you want to talk about navigating health and social care systems, managing finances, balancing your own wellbeing, you’ll be met with kindness, respect, and understanding.
Our experienced facilitators are on hand to offer guidance, information, and signposting to relevant services. Through The Carers Support Service, we can connect you to a wide range of free, confidential support—covering everything from benefits advice and legal rights to training opportunities and wellbeing activities.
Peer support can be a lifeline for many carers. By joining this peer support group for parent Carers of adults over 25 years of age, you’re not only giving yourself a break from the isolation caring can bring—you’re also helping to create a stronger, more connected community of carers in North Lincolnshire.
