Caring for someone can be rewarding but also demanding. Having time to relax together, meet others, and enjoy new activities makes a big difference. That’s why The Carers’ Support Service runs our Care for a Song session – a warm, welcoming respite club designed for carers and the adults they support.
This monthly group offers a safe, friendly space to socialise, stay active, and make meaningful connections. Carers and those they care for are invited to share laughter, music, and friendship while taking part in enjoyable activities. The atmosphere is relaxed and supportive, giving everyone a chance to unwind and feel included.
Our Care for a Song session takes place on the last Friday of each month from 10:30am to 12:00pm at The Carers’ Support Service in Grimsby. The group focuses on singing together in a fun, light-hearted way, sometimes there is even a little dancing, but that’s up to you!
No musical ability is needed – the emphasis is on enjoyment, not performance.
Many carers tell us that singing helps lift spirits, reduce stress, and bring joy into their caring role.
By attending, carers gain valuable respite while still spending quality time with the person they support. Both carers and cared-for adults can join in, meet others in similar situations, and feel part of a wider community. The session helps reduce isolation, builds confidence, and creates lasting friendships.
