Carer Coach – With a Mental Health Focus

22.5 hours a week (3 full days a week)

£26,455 per annum, pro rata

No day is the same when supporting Carers. You will play a key role in ensuring Carers can continue caring for their friends and family members safely and confidently. You will enable Carers to look after themselves and have a life of their own.

You will be supported to provide emotional support and practical solutions. You will take advantage of the knowledge and skills within the team, and the menu of support services provided by the Carers’ Support Service to ensure Carers are provided with or signposted to interventions that meet their needs.

Being a Carer Coach is a fulfilling role. You will support Carers at the times they struggle the most. This means you will need a level of emotional resilience and an ability to empathise in order to provide non-judgemental solution focused support.

This is a varied frontline role combining general carer support with specialist support for Carers of adults with mental health needs.

The postholder will provide information, advice, first-contact support and time-limited casework. The role also includes planned appointments, reception and front-door duties, follow-up calls, database recording, shared service actions, community outreach and partnership working.

Priorities may change during the day. The postholder will need to balance planned work with telephone calls, walk-in enquiries, urgent issues and service-recording requirements.

● more focused support for Carers of adults with learning disabilities; and
● supporting the work and development of North East Lincolnshire Carers Voice Group.
