Advocacy | You may need: Someone to speak on your behalf, attend a meeting with you, help you challenge decisions, write a letter or make a phone call. Advocacy covers situations where you may need support about a particular issue that you are unable to handle on your own. | North East Lincolnshire |
Counselling | You may need: Help to work through and understand personal thoughts and feelings, help to understand and manage situations, someone to talk to in a confidential setting. | North and North East Lincolnshire |
Befriending | You may need: Someone to talk to outside of your situation who will listen and not judge. Someone to go to a group, or go shopping with you because you haven’t the confidence to go on your own. Someone to help you feel less lonely and isolated. Befrienders can meet you at home, a public place of your choosing or chat to you on the phone. | North and North East Lincolnshire |
Benefits and Debt advice, including help to complete forms | You may need: Information and advice about benefits you may be eligible for. You may want to challenge a decision made about your benefits or access debt or housing advice, or help to complete benefits forms and apply for benefits. | North East Lincolnshire |
Holistic Therapies Including: Massage, Facial, manicure, Pedicure, Hot Stones | You may need: Time to yourself to de-stress, relax and unwind. Time out to help you refresh yourself ready to carry on with your caring role. | North East Lincolnshire |
Carer Peer Support Groups | You may need: Support from other Carers or the opportunity to socialise and develop a new network of friends. The opportunity to get out for an hour or two for a cup of tea and a chat with like-minded people who understand your situation. | North and North East Lincolnshire |
Activity Groups Including: Art Tai Chi Lunch Club Mens Shed | You may need: Support from other Carers or the opportunity to socialise and develop a new network of friends. Activities can help bring people together who have a common interest. | North East Lincolnshire |
I.T Tuition | You may need: To improve and develop your skills to make your caring role easier for example by using online banking and shopping. You may need to use the internet to keep in touch with friends and family. You may want to use the internet for entertainment and a way to access your hobbies and have a break from your caring role at home. | North and North East Lincolnshire |
Substance Misuse Support For Carers caring for someone with a substance misuse problem | You may need: Help to understand why the person you care for misuses substances, help to cope with your cared for persons addiction, someone to talk to about any issues you are having or situations you find yourself in. You may need help to manage or overcome your own substance misuse problem as well as your caring role. | North East Lincolnshire provide specialist support, but as a Carer, you can access support from both North and North East Lincolnshire |
Training and Workshops | You may need: To improve skills and knowledge to help you manage your caring role and look after yourself. | North and North East Lincolnshire |
Listening Ear | You may need: Someone to talk to who understands and is sympathetic, or you might just want to blow off a bit of steam and let your frustrations out. | North and North East Lincolnshire |
Key Worker | You may need: Regular contact from a named person to support you with your caring role. Someone to go to if you have any questions, worries or queries who can support you through a difficult period or situation. | North and North East Lincolnshire |
Help When Caring Ends | You may need: Support to work through the loss of the person you cared for. This can be one of the most challenging times for a Carer. | North and North East Lincolnshire. In North Lincolnshire we can support you for up to 6 months following the end of your caring role. In North East Lincolnshire we can provide support for up to 2 years. |
